With a background in architecture, she approaches clothing through construction, proportion and movement — then allows something to shift. A line continues further than expected. Volume interrupts the body. Structure gives way to softness.
Her work is defined by this tension: controlled but sensual, precise but never entirely obedient.
THE HOUSE
Ioana Ciolacu is an independent fashion house based in Bucharest. Each collection is developed through material experimentation and produced in Romania with a close network of local manufacturers.
Sustainability is treated as a design constraint rather than a claim: fewer, considered pieces; local production; responsible materials; and garments conceived for longevity rather than excess.
A graduate of London College of Fashion, Ioana Ciolacu has worked with Stella McCartney. Her collections have been carried internationally by retailers including Farfetch, Moda Operandi and Zalando.
